Welcome to the Community Food System work group for the Greater Milwaukee Conscious Sustainable Community Initiative. The purpose of the initiative is to address the new and emerging demands of the modern world as well as the demands of the 21st century city and her people.
This work group is challenged with both unearthing as well as bringing into being the community's vision of a food system that feeds all her people without prejudice, a food system that generates and distributes wealth in a fair and equitable manner, a food system that improves health and well being (physical, mental, and spiritual) of all consumers, and a food system that is connected to the natural cycles of the earth that will support and improve the overall environment.
